I can't believe how fast it started to recognize my voice. A must have in my opinion. and as far as my personal review, 5 stars all the way. It has a upgrade for Vista users and also versions 8,9,and 10 - The FREE UPGRADE TO 10.1 For some reason it is almost impossible to get this direct download from there main website (even though they show it) - My best friend (Google) helped me find the correct URL to download their "Service Pack 1" to upgrade all the versions to 10.1 - After you install and register your product, Click copy and past the link below, so you can update your current version to: 10.1[.].Hope this helps you out. Yes. Read the criticisms, because they are real and it WILL happen to you. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch. Don't be seduced by the praise -- most I've read are still in the infatuation stage and are just mesmerized at seeing their spoken words appearing on the monitor before their eyes.

Simple, ordinary words clearly enunciated then are still being misunderstood by the program, sometimes getting nothing more than " It sucked when I started, it sucks now. I have been trying to use this program for a month. Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.1 Legal will not perform even remotely closely enough to what is advertised to make it worth your while trying to make it work for you (let alone the dollars you burn in buying it and the Bluetooth headset you most likely will want). Is it a marvel when it's working properly. Read the other reviews. That is where the real value of these reviews is found.

There has been no improvement in recognition. Don't be fooled. But there are so many functionality issues and so much time wasted in correcting its errors that you will repeatedly conclude that you would have been better off just typing it yourself the "old fashioned" way. You won't come close to "99% accuracy" in actual, day-to-day practice.

I speak well enough into it and the voice recognition does not work well. If you buy this you may also want to look into a good headset with a good microphone. The program itself is okay but I think the headset needs to be improved. However, when I used a different headset it was better.

Even though I've worked a lot with Dragon Naturally Speaking, I've rarely seen it work better than I can type. I was so disappointed at how slowly DNS 9 worked and how poor the accuracy was that I haven't tried it since (and yes, I did train it on two different selections). I used earlier versions of Dragon Naturally speaking and was satisfied with the results on a desktop machine with a name-brand sound card (for a third-party product I was developing for hire). I had hoped by now that this newer version would work well on a laptop in a noisy environment for my own personal use. Granted, a noisy environment and a laptop sound card are not the optimal environment for speech recognition, but let's be realistic--if I'm going to sit at a desktop machine, I'm going to be typing.

Just great. However, if you're trying to download it to a laptop, make sure the power cord is attached to the laptop before downloading.
